im on a tight situation right now:

i have a mono amp that needs 2 male rca connector ends while my deck uses 1 male rca end for the sub preamp rca. by using a '1 male to 2 female' Y-adapater behind the deck, will i sacrafice anything?

its only gonna power 1 sub and hooked up to 1 mono sub amp, thats it. i already have the rca cable which has 2 male ends on one end and another 2 male ends on the other

if its a mono amp why does it have 2 sets of rca's? are you sure its not just a thru-put so you can run another sub amp?what is brand and model number of that amp?

EDIT: i completely misunderstood that post----but WTF? are you saying that your deck does not have a set of plugs that a regular set of rca's will plug into?

It could be a stock HU, and he thinks he needs to run a y cable to get full power out of the amp... I was told you don't need to use a y connector to get full power out of 1 amp.

if its a stock hu then i would use a Line Out Converter.
