RCA problem and head unit problem

so first of all i am having problems with the hu in my sig. i took out my amp and subs the other day, then when i intstalled it today, i found the remote wire isnt getting power. so by process of elimination i found that my hu isnt sending the remote signal. what could have happened? do i need to send it in?

and after that i just powered the amp by jumping the remote from the 12v power to the remote. so i was listening to my music and i realized when i disconnect the red RCA and run just off of the red one the subs get louder? why is this? would it be fine to use just the one RCA? i never understood why there is a right and left for mono amps anyways.

as far as the rem goes, you could wire it into a switched source in the fuse pane, like the radio or something else thats only on when the key is in the acc position.

And mono is the combined l/r signal.

well, i kinda want to get it fixed. i was just wondering wat would have caused that.

and is it normal that it is louder with just one RCA plugged in?

you may have shorted out the rem turn on curcuit in the hu. If its not putting out 12 volts, then its the wire cut, or the hu messed up.

I suggested a work around. but if you want it fixed, get a new rem wire run and /or a new HU.
