Rca hookups for a 5 channel amp with head unit having just one set of rca outputs

I have a clarion head unit with just one set of preamp outputs. However, i have a Audiobahn A5005J , 5 channel amp. In order for me to use all five channels on the amp will i have too run splitters on the one set to get signal to all 5 channels. My amp has a switch that you can switch from 1 to 5 channels.I have tried using this switch and changing to 5 channels, but i only get sound from channels 1 and 2. What would be the best and lest exspensive way to solve my problem?

get a new headunit

get a 1/2 din EQ, most take set in and have 3 sets out. problem solved for ~$50

Make sure all your RCAs are properly hooked up and arnt loose at all..... Had a buddy get a cheap pair from WalMart and they were so loose that half the time they were not sending any signal from the HU to the AMP. He thought his amp was Fed up for the longest time.. turns out it was just a bad connection of the RCAs

get a few RCA Y splitters to connect to all of the inputs
