Is their a way I can test my old RCA cables? I pretty sure they work but wonder if thier qaulity degrades over use/time. For example: they work but will the sound qaulity be worse and can I test the qaulity....tried searching but yeilded little results..is there a differnt term used for them?

***RCA interconnects did not prove useful*** (thanks anyways)

thanks.....let me rephrase that what is the standard resistance of RCA cables. (need a base line of what to test for)

just thought about I could prob find that myself...replys still welcome though

***search was futile (google)***

you want it to be as close to zero as possible, there is no "standard resistance"...

as for quality checking, if they sound good to you, and they're not nicked/frayed/damaged, they're good.

I know for RF cables you can use a signal generator and a dummy load and measure the forward/reflected power as well as check for any "impedance bumps" that might occur in the dielectric...but not for audio cables.
