Check this, I go to Circuit City (I always go there, ask questions and never buy anything, lol, those dudes work off commission, so I'm wasting their valuble time and they know it) and I'm talking to this dude about RCA cables. Ofcourse he's trying to sell me his top of the line MonsterCable 5000 Ultra-super-duper Patch Cord. But I'm cheap and never buy anything the first time, I always check somewhere else. Now that I told my story, here's my question : DOES THE TYPE OF RCA CABLE MATTER?? they've got Copper, Platinum, Oxygen Free, double shielded, blah blah blah.

Oh, and I was also wondering about "amp turn-on wire" does the Gauge matter?? I'm using some thin, thin wire, and I was looking at the amp kit at Circuit City and it was like 18 Ga. DOES THE GA. OF THE REMOTE TURN-ON WIRE MATTER?

Good man use those Circuit City punks for all their worth! (but big up to my Circuit City boys, none-the-less) The gauge of the wiring is the most important thing you can buy. As for higher end stuff until someone tells me that a Monster Cable copper wire is that much different then some Home Depot copper wire, dont sweat it. I am not saying buy Home Depot but I have been told by many techs that the wire is more or less just the name that you are paying for. Good luck.

18 GA is just fine for the amp turn on wire. thats what they usuually use in the amp kits. i just went to wall mart and bouth two pairs of rca connections and they are working just fine.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Thin wire is fine for the Amp turn on because all that wire is doing is sending a signal telling the amp to turn on. For RCA's its a different story, since these cables are supplying the actual musical signal to the amp they should be fairly decent. Name brands dont really matter but twisted pair RCA cable is better than the side by side kind, twisted pair protects the signal more than the normal kind. I use Stinger twisted pair in my ride.
