RCA and Power on same side

I was literally just posting this in another thread...If your RCA's aren't shielded properly and you have enough noise in your power wire it will radiate. Most of the time this isn't a big deal but on an audio signal cable that noise gets amplified and then produced from your speakers.

No, I meant other forms of noise as in audible noise that isn't static sounding, like a whine for example. Not exactly caused by the same thing but have you ever heard a system with alternator whine?

I suppose in the broad sense of the term, turn on/off thump is noise but it wouldn't be caused by EMI radiation from your RCA's being too close to your power wire.
