Rainbow SLX 230 crossover question

I purchased a set of SLX 230s a while ago. I noticed it only has a high pass inline crossover. Wouldn't this show a different final impedance load to the amp compared to a standard crossover?

I'm basically trying to figure out if it would be worth it for me to build a 2 way crossover. Or, if possible, buy the deluxe 230 crossover for it.

I don't want to go through the install and then have to tear things apart again to redo the wiring part of it.

- Probably, yes. it's probably below 4 - ohms... as long as the load is not too low causing the amp to go into protect, it's okay. But, a two-way crossover designed for those particular speakers could give a flatter response... and better sound quality. If that's what the deluxe 230 crossover is, that would be the way to go... well worth the cost I'm sure.

Don't try to build your own crossover... how do you know you will end up with a flat response? Crossover programs are simply a starting point... the better crossovers designed for a particular set are often tested and tweaked by pros that have years of experience doing so... and you will probably not beat the pros. I've been in and around the audio business for many years, including working for JL Audio at one point. But I would not even attempt an active setup myself for this very reason.
