radar detectors

most are worthless until youre spending 350+. ive had experience with the cobra's highest model and it still worked like shit, it would go off randomly for no reason and at times i could be less than a mile from a cop and it still wouldnt go off. the supposed best on the market right now or at least it was is i think called the escourt which worked fairly well. i didnt have it myself but it was in the car of a friend that i was always riding with. it would warn well in advance and was accurate but in the end she still got a ticket. i would say dont bother because cops technology is still far more advanced plus its pretty obvious seeing someone flying down the road but there are real nice ones if your willing to spend over 800.

maybe your an idiot that didn't do your research. cobra makes absolute crap. I dont even think they make radar detectors for $800. It doesn't matter how much money you put into it, they will still go off when you pass automatic doors. deal with it, Its saved me from numorous tickets.

I bought a $100 beltronics express 795 and it works flawlessly. That model is now discontinued however, so look around and do lots of research so you know what your getting.

there's a review floating around online done by a former cop i believe comparing a bunch of different ones. the escort and valentine were the highest ranked. and top it off with a jammer. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif (tho they're illegal)

actually mabe your the idiot who didnt read his post. he said a cheap one so i was saying even the best of cobra which is a cheap one still sucks so there for if you want a nice one you will be looking at spending some good money. also they sell detectors for well over a grand do some research yourself and you might be suprised.

Mixed reviews from everyone regarding Valentine One, and Passport Escort. In most reviews I've read, the Valentine does horrible compared to others in city traffic, but excells in laser detection. The Passport is a good all around, but the Bel RX65 Pro was the winner all around. Runs ~$229 on ebay.

I got one and I like it. It's extremely sensitive and highly configurable.

also how can you guys justify spending 400 for a detector when a ticket will only cost 80 bucks obviously it will be more if your going 30 or more over the speed limit but it will take longer to slow down due to reaction time and by that time your already caught youre badly underestimating the kinds of technology cops have.
