RADAR Detectors. Any one the -$100 units work well? (Cobra XRS etc)

My old cobra radar unit stopped working this year (had it for more than 3 years so im happy) and Im looking for a new one. On ebay they have TONS of cobra xrs units 9330, 9350 etc etc and a whole bunch of other companies and models Ive never heard of

Is there any radar detector out there that work REALLY well and doesnt go crazy when driving through town?

Any real life experience would be appreciated thanks

bel 795 express, best under $100 radar

it has saved my *** numerous times

i have hte beltronics v940... got it for 125 on sale at circuit city. Its the same as the 955 (which is like 200) other than it picks up more false alerts.

Dont get a cobra.

I've never had a radar detector. The only time I would use it is after I've tuned something on my car and need to test it out. If you drive around with it daily doesn't it just piss cops off and make them find a way to give you a ticket?

Well once your pulled over for speeding and they see your detector, they're gonna be more lenient to give you a ticket

i have been pulled over numerous times for various things and have never received anything but a warning and my radar is right in the middle of my windshield, so in my experience the answer is no

the newer cobras arent any good though? Shit my last one was great but it was a few years ago, there only like $70 new on ebay though.

Valentines for $400 are not an option

And for having a cop giving you hassle about the detector, obviously I would pull it off the windshield when I get pulled over, since there illegal here.

radars are only illegal in Va and DC, unless something changed in the past year

and without proof, assuming a cop is more likely to give you a ticket if you have one is idiotic to say the least
