"vibration" noise in mids/tweeters?

i can hear a slight vibration noise in my new comps. i have no magnet boot on my mids, because it wouldnt fit with it on. could this cause that noise? if so, is there any material i can put around the magnet to act as a boot, maybe something soft, and tape it around the magnet. i can only hear it when the volume is low, and at certain frequencies. usually when someone is talking, or a high pitched chime sound. at louder volumes, i cant hear it, but u can tell its not as clear as it should be.

only other thing i can think of is maybe i have the tweeter wired backwards. i forget which wire was labeled pos, (blue/silver) so i used silver as pos. ill try switching that around i guess.

That wouldn't cause a "vibration" sound (and infact having one tweeter out of phase is not necessarily a bad thing....more tuning would be required to determine that though).

The magnet boot has nothing to do with it aswell....unless the magnet is bumping/rubbing against something inside the door and the boot previously acted as a buffer to the vibration.

How do you know it's coming from the speaker? Which speaker(s) is it coming from? Do the speakers make the sound when not installed in the vehicle?

This could be a problem as was mentioned from panels/mechanisms inside the door vibrating and not a problem with the speaker itself.

What, if any, sound deadening do you have in the doors?

no sound deadening. and i know its the speakers because it only plays this noise through my front component setup. my rear 6x9's dont have the same noise. i swear i saw someone on here post that having his magnet boot off of his comp set (same one as mine, the ss65.2) caused a slight vibration/interference noise. the best way i can describe it is like when u tear velcro under water, u know that feeling? well, take that feeling and put it into sound. thats the best way i can describe it.. blehj

That doesn't mean it's the speaker itself. That only means it's not the headunit and/or amplifier (if you are using one).

It still very easily could be (and with zero sound deadening, very likely is) a panel or mechanism vibrating/resonating in or on the door.

Quickest way to test this is pull the speaker out of the door and play it free air. If there is no vibration sound then it's obviously not the speaker itself and is related to the installation of the speaker.

No.
