"Reserve Capacity" Battery Rating?

How similar is this to the amp hour rating? I've found the opportunity to pick up some big Group 31 batteries for dirt cheap that have a "Reserve Capacity" of 170.

Actually, it looks like pretty much any fleet battery can be bought for cheap, they are all just rated in this way...

RC is usually a 25 amp load ran down to 10.5 volts and usually done in minutes. It is based off of trolling motors.

they use a constant 25 amp load to reassemble a trolling motor which in the ones I have seen/used don't appear to be constant as they have speed controls.

'Rough' rule of thumb is RC/2 = Ah

I've always used RC to measure a batts capacity rather than Ah.

Ah can be easily misleading. I'm not sure why Ah is more popular in car audio..... Anyone what to enlighten me?

Its a general estimate, usually pretty close.
