"Power Surge" type thing happening through my electrical system.

I just recently started having this problem. I can hear my car "whine" in the back speakers (6" x 9"s) and the subwoofer (which was a 10" Kicker Comp) beats in and out even when the volume on the HU is at zero. The power metters on the amp jump to a heart beat... Thump... (a second later) ... Thump... Every light in the car dims. It only happens when the HU is one. When I cut it off... A loud popping noise goes through the 6"x9"s.

I'm about to run the ground from the battery to the amp. Maybe that'll fix the "whining" problem but for the "power surge" ... I've never seen that happen before. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I want to get this fixed before I buy 2 12" Audiobahn subwoofers and a new amplifier. (need a upgrade. 1 10" use to be loud enough... but I want more now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif )

Ground the HU and the amplifier to the same spot (common ground) that should make a difference.
