To you it is a waste of time

To me it is doing the job right, for my car I solder things, for other peoples I generally crimp them.

I've also soldered these lugs w/a blow torch.Held the lug(Tab down) in vise.Heat the barrel, and fed solder in,put the cable in,applied more solder.

Let the solder & barrel cool, then "I" used Dual Wall Adhesive shrink tubing.Done....

Wow, a post from you that's not in bold.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've been using a pair of these vice grips to crimp the living **** out of the terminal, then heat it with a blowtorch and solder it through the hole I drilled in the top of the terminal.

The big terminal is 4/0, and the small ones are 1/0. I plan on buying one of those crimp tools.

or you can get it cheaper here or here. on the second link you have to scroll a little bit.
I just bought this tool I hope it is worth the money for $15 bucks I won't be out too much anyways.

Lenco Swedge-On Tool Model 840l

I got it from the second link. It pappears to be a V- but has a flat circle on the end of it? Well I hope it still works. I was out trying the channel locks again today. Basicaly brute force one side of the terminal on at a time. I position the Channel locks against the cement outside and then squeeze them together with my body wieght and strength several times overlapping the 2 sides. I think I'm getting a pretty solid connection, but it is alot of work. I have a feeling this tool will be nice to have around next time (if there is a next time), although I'll probably try to finish the job tomarrow anyways without it.

I would love to solder but I don't have a torch, or patience, clamp or even a workbench to put one, or a place to put a workbench heh. Plus I have Knu 0ga terminals they are not really designed for solder.
