Quite the night last night :(

Last night around 3:30 AM I was watching Simpsons on my Ipod, trying to fall asleep, as I heard my dad snoring extremely loud, I thought nothing of it as he is a loud snorer. But my mom goes in there and starts yelling "Wake up! Wake up!" calling my name to come help. My dad was laying there gasping for air, his heart would stop for 10-20 seconds, no pulse, as we were doing CPR on him, called 911 and in about 5 minutes the ambulance, fire truck and police arrived all at once. They rushed to the bedroom, zapped him a couple times, which was probably the worst thing ive ever seen. Seeing my dads body being jolted, hearing the ambulance workers yelling "CLEAR!". Now my dad is sedated and temporarily paralyzed, sleeping on an ice blanket to protect his brain from getting brain damage, with a breathing tube through his mouth. Not moving, talking, but breathing good.

Just had to get that off my chest, this is the first time ive ever seen my dad in critical condition or in a hospital in my life.

It's extremely hard for me and yeah I cried writing this //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

If you all could say a prayer in hopes of my father getting back to normal and in a healthy state.

Time to finally get an hour or two of sleep today, and back to the hospital.

Honestly, I almost cried when I read that. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
same, i'm shocked, and my dads sick too but he doesn't learn.. he has diabetes and he still smokes (hooka) and eats junk food.. he had to go to the hospital after about a week of not smoking/eating junk, he started the process again...

best wishes for you and your dad

I know exactly how the OP feels, just be lucky that your dad made it to the hospital, mine passed on the living room floor, the medics did all the could but it was his time. Good luck to your family and i'll keep your family in my prayers.

really sucks, hope for the best bro.

and not going to question this but, the pain in the *** thing with cpr nowadays is that they're always changing the numbers etc.

you only do compressions now, no breathing.

I feel for ya man. My dad had a case of sleep apmia, if you don't know what that is, it's kinda similar, when he's sleeping he snores alot, and (i forget what the piece is called) but it sits in his breathing passage and you wake him up and his face turns pale and purple due to no air. Thankfully he seems to have gotten over it but i hear it can be VERY serious, expecially for larger men even though my dad's not very large at all.

Hope he gets better bro.

my prayers are with you and your family, i know what your going through, not with my dad but with my grandpa. Came over to his house after class on feb 4 and found him dead in his room. It looked like he was trying to get up and his heart just gave out.
