Quick voice coil question

So i took my dcons out to repaint my box, and the coil looks like its striped gold/ red/brown. Are they supposed to look just solid gold? I never looked at the voice coil when I got them new so i don't know if this is actually what they look like, or If i've been burning them.. (I only give them 180 watts each??) My guess is that they're supposed to look like that. But i'd like some reassurance. Thanks!

this is what my new coil looks like compared to my old one if that helps at all.

yeah it should be like a bronze color. black is bad lol. you can usually smell it pretty easily if the coil is burnt too

Alright there's no problem with it then. There are just really slight shades of red, which it looks like are on your new coil also. I was looking at it in a shadow so it looked worse haha
