how do you like the sonotubes compared to slot ports or 6" or smaller aero's? i'd like to try something different in my next build 2 10" ports sounds awesomeThanks for all the comments everyone.. To answer some questions the box is 17.1 cu/ft gross.. 15.4 net . Port area is 158 cu/in using (2) 10 inch sono tubes. Flared ends. And Na_rsx I ended up selling the RSX after I did the a2 swap and all that . A local guy came by with 12k in cash so I couldnt really pass that up lol.
Well one of the main reasons I went with the 10 inch ports was beacuse I was able to get the most port volume while not having issues with fitting all the ports( that was why i couldnt do the 6 inch aeros). So far im still suprised on how well they work for something so cheap(10 bucks at HD). All I did to them was spread a little bit of fiberglass resin to stiffen them up a tiny bit. There is no port noise what so ever. I mean its hard to compare them to a slot port setup because I havent used a slot port with the 18's yet but I know they are right up to par with a nicely designed slot port . Im suprised there are not alot of people using these yet .how do you like the sonotubes compared to slot ports or 6" or smaller aero's? i'd like to try something different in my next build 2 10" ports sounds awesome
Thanks mang , the only pics I have at the moment are these http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=361147&page=9very nice bro , impressive. got any pics of enclosure just curious c what looks like
Pretty much yea .. I couldnt go with a slot port just because of that matter . The overall box size wouldve been huge in order to fit the correct size slot port . Therefore it wouldnt have even fit in the truck lol . Usaully if you stay around 8-10 cu/in of port per cu/ft net when using round ports seems to work pretty well.im sure i will be using them eventually, maybe a single 12" for 2 15"s or 2 18"s.
i heard that "supposedly" you only need half the port area with a round port than a slot port. like you 156sq. in, would technically equal over 300 sq in. slot... dont know how accurate that is, but it would save me some airspace if so, that way i could just use large round ports.
Appreciate the comments .Cool to hear it influences people somewhat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif**** man, way nice.vids like this keep me going to reach my goal for my setup.
