Would it be bad if I had 4 gauge wires for my big 3 and 0/1 gauge wires to my amp?

no, not bad if you don't expect more current than the 4 awg can offer. note that it's all about current demand. running 1/0 isn't a bad idea for voltage drop in general.

just recognize that you're limiting the current capability and increasing voltage drop using smaller wire with high power demands.

Yup thanks ima be runin 1400 Rms a ppi pc21400.2 I was told 4 Gauge is okay for 1400 if in short runs
