Way to hijack thread wasn't letting me post for some reason. I just want basically wanted to try horns to decide where I want to go with my next setup, and some info on the subject of course. My dad has a pair of home speakers(he just got them recently) that have a horn, 15" Sub for Mids and another 15" Sub for lows in them and they are awesome.(I think it was $600-700 for pair in boxes too, but they are pretty decent for the price) I guess I would want to setup my vehicle the same way? Horn Mid Low? Question part: How does a horn compare to my current 3-Way speakers?(Does it it all the notes minus the bass?) Do I still need Tweeters in a Horn setup? How much louder do horns get and do they keep quality as they get louder? How much more power do horns need? Would keeping the 3-Way speakers in hurt more than help? What does the term "active" mean? Do anything like equalizers play a role in setting it up? Space wouldn't matter that much I don't even have my current speakers mounted in the doors or anything, just their own boxes, it a Suburban just for stereo so I have plenty of room and not worried about speakers sticking out from under the dash or anything like that. I may not go with horns yet, but for some mids can I get away with using my 2 channels on my amp that run 125 @ 2 Ohms? I looked at those 6.5 Mids you posted, but didn't see the specs on them? I am wondering though If I should just pick up another pair of those 6x9 3 Way kickers instead of buying just Mids?
