[QUOTE="jdowney, post: 486999, member: 549690"] Hello, I am looking to put some new audio into my 1998 jeep grand cherokee. I understand JL is overpriced, however it is a brand i have come to trust with subs and amps so i am looking to put a jl sub/amp combo system and have a few questions: 1. What is a better setup for sound quality - 1 - 12w6v2 with a 500/1 or 2 - 12w6v2 with a 1000/1? 2. Will either require a new alternator/capacitor/second battery to run effeciently and not cause any problem to my jeep? 3. Depending on your answer to Question #1, which enclosure would be best for my vehicle, the local shop here told me bandpass is better for suv and hatchbacks or any car where the subs are not inside a trunk and ported for trunk systems. I hate the local shop here and will not be buying anything from them but it did get me thinking as to what enclsure would be best for these subs, as i have quite a bit of space. If the diffrence would not be noticeable to your ears i would prefer a smaller enclsure so i can still use the trunk area. System i am trying to achieve - I used to have 2 - 15 kicker solo barics and it was really overkill for me seeing as how it started to actually hurt my ears, so i would like a system with a good sound quality but still has a good solid bass to it. any suggestions on component speakers would be appreciated, my local shop said the power windows prevented me from going from a 6.5 inch speaker to 6x9 and i have no idea if thats true but i would prefer 6x9 but have no problem with 6.5 many thanks in advance.
