not really needed? id rather use dvc drivers. a lot easier to wire, thought a qvc isn't hard just not needed, but that is my opinion and you are entitled to yours.

by that logic, a dual voice coil isnt really needed..a svc is a lot easier to wire, though a dvc isnt hard..

its not just more wiring options..you can run more power...strap a pair of amps to each coil..8 amps instead of just 4.

qvc's kinda confuse me. Seems like way too much work. I know memphis sells a Q1. could you in theory put that down to .5ohm or would it be .25? They really really confuse me.

I'll stick to my DVC's and call it a day.

Just because you are able to run more power doesnt mean the sub will take it. Given two versions of the same sub, one being a DVC and one being a QVC, they will both have the same power handling. the quad coil was made available for the same reason as the dvc..so people could run more power to a single sub. has everything to do with running more power, being able to wire them in more configurations is simply an upside..
