I agreeits a sh!t design cause there should never be external threads made from alum. for even tapping alum you must helicoils.
Ive designed parts successfully using external aluminum threads. Lets face it, any time you thread two alum parts together, you will have external (male) alum threads. The problem comes when you try to make those threads handle too much stress, or (as I suspect in this case) you mate those threads to a steel threaded part. You are just asking for electrolysis to eat the two parts away very rapidly. This happens even faster when electrical current is passed through the joining parts.its a sh!t design cause there should never be external threads made from alum. for even tapping alum you must helicoils.
You mean this one? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gifi had that happen to me with some audiopipe subs, except mine was making a knocking sound before the motor fell off.
Whos GTO is that? I have those same wheels on my car.
