I wasn't trying to be an *** (though I'm well capable of it should that be the direction this conversation needs to go...) but rather offer some honest advice that it would appear would truly be in your best interest in the long run.

It's your PS2, after all, and if you'd like to kill it then by all means, by my guest! Personally I buy gaming consoles to actually be able to play the games I subsequently purchase but perhaps I'm the odd man out in this respect.

Like snova posted.....remove the screws if you want to disassemble it. It isn't brain surgery.
