That protective cover would make it harder for the bass to push the cone in. But, it would also act as a very small (weak) sealed enclosure. Given a high Q of the mid I don't think it would matter much if you used it. It really depends of the driver you choose. Something with a high Q would be fine.</p></blockquote><p></p>
