So should I keep the JL's down low, or put them up a little higher?

I know I'm new here.... But, I'm glad I found your

thread and saw your asking for help for these front

speakers.

I had an 8" Quart in a Mercedes much like your looking

at in this car. It really took tons of room like these are

in your car. It made driving it a ROYAL PIA! I'm not going

to tell you how to do it just passing along what it was

like for me. I really missed that little bit of leg room that

my speakers took up. Long trips, forget about it, it was

very uncomfortable. It looked great but again the missing

room didn't look that big at first. Once I got on the road

headed for a football game I was SOOOO ready to get

out of that car. No matter what I did I just couldnt' get

comfortable.

Again, I'm not trying to tell you what to do with your car

your doing a hell of a good job! I just think you would

be better off trying to figure out how to put them in the

doors.

Good luck..... I'll see if I can find some pics of my old

install.

I was going to do my pioneer 8"s at first but those really would take up some huge space!

I think going w/ these wont be that big of a issue.

I def dont want to do anything to the doors and want to keep the factory look as much as possible.

If I dont like the way they sit, I'll move em to the side.

I hear ya, I didn't want to step on any toes so

to speak. It's kind of hard to see just how much

they will go into the floor until your done.

bookmarked. Starting from what you did to me is

badass!

First of all it's been about 8 months from nothing to what it is now.

Not to mention the fact that all this equipment isn't free, and I have to work to buy it. There are set backs.

If you wanna throw $5-8 grand my way, please feel free to do so. Then the car will be close to getting finished.

I've already put more then that in it.

Sucks your a complete dumbass, since we have been in business for 13 years selling rebuilt salvage vechicles, and making money on them.

And since I could sell the car stock for about 13.5K you fail even more.

Geez PP, sorry dude I would have never thought my post would have

caused all that. Don't worry with it, your doing more than I ever would

have thought to do to a car, now if we were talking about boats or

bikes I'm all in. **** shame stuff like this has to happen on a board

when we are for the most part into the same hobby.

Pechkin, were you able to put a aftermarket HU in the dash? I know subies have that long awkward dash and was wondering what you did. Im looking at getting a new car and a Legacy GT is an option for me.

Haha, Just look at the pics then.

The non fully loaded legacys have a dash trim kit that you can replace and go aftermarket, mine however is fully auto mated climate control which is integrated through the CD player. I had to remove the upper part of the small pocket in the center vents and fitting a headunit there.

The hard part was to make the trim piece fit, due to the brace bar leaves almost no room for cables behind the H.U.

If you find the pics, you'll understand what i mean.

So if you want simplicity buy the basic version, rip out the stock cd player and mount the dash trim kit/ aftermarket H.U.

It will save you a lot of time.
