Toggle switch can go on the output positive.
As for wiring, wire them all parallel.

Output goes to the LEDS

input is its power source.

Positive and negative must match up to the LED's because LED's are diodes, and current can only go one way. If it was reversed it wouldn't cause any damage, but nor would it light up.
thats what i figured. thanks for the clarification!

That should be a quick and easy task then. I need to go get masking tape so i can mask off the two baffles and subs (so when i put on the top, theres no running glue on the paint or subs). Then, the whole box will go together and i'll prime and paint the exterior of the box.

Looks good man, what type of paint have you been usin on the dash and box?
i dont remember the brand, but its actually made for plastics (i works on plastic, metal, wood, etc etc, but its designed for plastic). I had bought a can of it to paint my dash (which i did), but i had extra, and used it on my amp rack. It came out nice enough to the point where i took back the paint i WAS going ot use to get more of the plastic stuff.

I'll run down to the garage later and check the brand if you want me to, im doing homework at the moment though

nope, just got through my week of mid terms, an di have to go to a wedding this weekend //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

but, after tuesday, ill have more time on my hands.

I tried wiring the LED's up, but i ran a test strip to the battery, and the bastard got REAL hot and one of the LED's on the strip burnt out.

sssoo, i gotta figure out what the deal is. as soon as i do, ill put in the LEDs (hopefully) and finish the box up

Ahh cool, I was just curious. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

when it gets hot there is usually a short somewhere. double check all your wires you could've switched something on accident.

If anyone knows much about wiring LED's, im looking for wiring advice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
the LED's have pos/neg inputs and pos/neg outputs. The only thing i can think of going is just making a big loop (a long strip of the LED's, connected to a battery, sent around the box, then brought back to the battery) with a toggle switch inline somewhere. Anyone think i should do something else?
I have no idea.

I'm still trying to figure out the tension on the ropes at the beginning of the race.

figured out the LEDs, my ballast wasnt doing its job i had to get a different one

got the LED's all in the box, and the top put on. Two spots need some wood filler, im going to silicone the joints for safety, then i'll be priming/painting the exterior of the box

pics up later

Wow, first time I saw this thread. When I saw the Pioneer setup, and the Autotek, I think a came a little? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif Very impressive. I didn't read much, but do you plan on running external cooling for the amps? They looked as if they were under the rear seat? Don't know if the Autotek runs warm or not?

nah, no extra fans or anything. I've ran amps under there at .5ohm with a more weak electrical, so this 2 ohm load on more battery power and a HO alternator should be fine.

oh and no pics tonight, sorry guys. The box is tilted subs-down at the moment and im priming and painting.

I got the top on, woodfiller'd around all the joints. The primer is on drying at the moment, and im hoping to throw the latex paint on tonight as well.

after thats done, the box can go in, i can build a beauty panel and install the HO alternator, then wire up the amps
