Project Fifteen BeeTeeLLLLLLLLLL!!!

Hehehehehehe...
Tune to ~33-35... see that number go up... and still at a low frequency...

I know noah! That will be my next week goal after that sunday competition.. Building another box for it and compare both of them. Gonna be a great comparison, so stay tune ya'll!!

27hz vs 33hz. What will be the difference? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif :naughty: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

So, tuned @ 27hz... and it peaks @45hz... hmm... box doesn't peak 18hz above tuning so it must be your vehicle coming into play //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

Oh, and that doesn't mean it's the RF of your vehicle either...

Did it peak any lower than that?

Not that i know of. Just ran one sweep. What do u suggest i should do?

Well, each box will peak differently... if you want to bassrace... and use something like Jeezy and such... (which peaks ~43-46hz)... I'd suggest trying something around a 36hz tuning to try to get the most out of it.

I'd suggest making a box with the sub and port on the same side... so when you test you can try firing up OR firing towards the rear. Also, try to make sure there is only ONE bend in the port at the most. OR Sub up... and port along the bottom like a CRX style.

And those one or two boxes don't need to be pretty... make em quick... with scraps if you want... just to try them. Then when you find out what's best... make it look nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

yea.. after this enclosure i made, i forgot i was going to make more enclousres for the woofer. So i shouldn't made it look pretty. ahhh. im thinkin about tearing apart this box next week, and re-use it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

W-O-W!! Great work!!!

Some questions.

1) What was your 18 XXX hitting, and at what frequency?

2) Did you get a chance to test the port position? Which position sound best and or loudest?

3) Can you compare the SQ of the BTL vs. the XXX?

Makes me want to get a BTL instead of an 18" XXX now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks man!

Did a 144.4db @ 40 hz on a 7cu ft enclosure tuned at 33 hz.

2) Did you get a chance to test the port position? Which position sound best and or loudest?

No, i did not test it out yet. I will try and see if i have the time tomorrow to test that out.

3) Can you compare the SQ of the BTL vs. the XXX?

SQ of the BTL, i am very impressed. Got alot of compliments from friends that were over today, telling me how it sounded cleaner than my 18" XXX, which was i was surprised. I guess tuning the enclosure to 27hz helped alot for the low end. Overall, 15" BTL vs 18" XXX. 15" BTL hands down.
