Profile AP1000M or Kenwood KAC-9102D?

Which is better amp? And I'm not just talking about power. I've read some of the Kenwoods overheat a bit.

Kenwood KAC-9102D

Class D

500RMS @4Ohms

850RMS @2Ohms

Profile AP1000M

Class A/B

310RMS @4Ohms

500RMS @2Ohms

Both have similar features and can be found for about same price.

Will be used for a single Audioque sd2.5 12", 500RMS; 1000Pk; 4Ohm DVC.

I heard that the sd2.5's could actually handle about 750RMS (supposedly).

So would it be best just to get the Kenwood since I wouldn't be using all the RMS it can give out? So it won't get hot or something?

Any ideas or suggestions?

you can't wire that sub to 4 ohm if that is what you're thinking for the kenwood. and i was told profile is that best bang for your buck amp you can find that's why im planning on getting it. but im not sure about the 750 rms thing but you always do want a little headroom so you can get the kenwood s well. it all comes down to how much power you plan on pushing.

No I was going to wire it 2Ohm. And it's either 2 or 8 Ohms isn't it?

Was going to wire it 2 Ohm and turn gain and everything all the way down, but will that still be a chance to blow sub?

yes its either 2 or 4 ohm. but like you said, it is said to reach 750 rms. as long as you set gains right, the sub won't blow.
