i got a viper 600hf for free, i am going to hook it up for insurance reasons. the only thing i want it to do is arm, disarm and if my car gets touched the alarm will go off. so i got the power and ground hooked up, i have also the yellow wire for the ignition hooked up and of course the siren, but i am not hooking up the starter kill that is why i got it for free cause its bad, so to program the unit i have the green wire grounded, but for some reason i am not able to program the remote. am i missing wires or something? what all has to be done to hooke up what i want?

you are grounding the green... turning ignition on... pressing and releasing valet switch once... then pressing and holding it... then hitting the button on the remote for arm/disarm/panic?

yea i am, but the light will blink once and then when i have the valet button still pushed i push the one button on the remote and it never blinks again to confirm the code

The unit could be faulty. That would prevent it from taking programming. Either that, or the programming sequence for that unit could be different than what you are trying.
