Problems with removing newer stock HU's

i have a 2004 grand prix gt that i just got and i want to pull the stock deck but i've heard that there are some electrical relays and stuff mounted in it and if you remove the unit it will affect different stuff in your car. does anyone know if that is the case for my car, if so if you know how you can get around it. there must be a way because i've seen people with replacment decks in the same car.

Thanks

All audible warning chimes; ie, the chime when you leave your lights on. There may also be some vehicle functions which you can access through the radio controls. Otherwise it won't hurt anything to remove it.
