You are in luck. Pioneer recently released a parts kit that fixes the problems with the DEH-P840MP and DEH-P8400. The part number for the repair kit is GXY1005 and can be purchased on the pioneer site. http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/part.asp?productNum=GXY1005 The telephone number to order is: 1800-228-7221. I ordered mine today (Tuesday) and it is supposed to arrive on Friday. From what I have read on the other forum, it is supposed to be very easy to install the part and is the fix for all the problems. The original ribbon cable is damaged by the opening of the second faceplate. The new cable has a notch that doesn't interfere with the second faceplate. I will post again on Friday/Saturday after I install mine. Bottom line, the ribbon cable is in stock and cost only $11.20 I had also read this guys profile and knew that it was a simple fix, just took a little time for someone to come up with the part number. Hey $50 profit for a 5 minute fix isn't too shabby. I stumbled on this information on this site. http://p090.ezboard.com/bhighwaymp3 James
