problems at work

as the title says. ok so i work at a metal shop with my friend for this cooperative education program were in an been workin there a few months. well this week my supervisor told my friend that he could start doing some tac welding since he had experience and had been there longer than me. so he starts and all hes basically doing is tacking nuts to metal plates, real simple. well as usual every so often he misses one or two welds and since im the guy who has to clean the welds an stuff i have to take them back and have him fix it as ive done in the past with other welders. so today im there with about 200 plates to clean and about 20 of them have misses, so i just wait till i get a handfull of them an take them over to my friend and he hits em an it takes like 30 seconds.

well i guessing the main boss saw me go to my friend to get some fixed a few times so the boss chews out the supervisor about me or something else. well my supervisor gets mad at me but doesnt come to me, he goes to my friend and tells him to tell me that i need to stop messing around or talking or something like that. so the next time i take some plates to my friend he says he has to tell me something later. so after i nagged him a few seconds he tells me what the guy said and i pretty much dont understand what he was talkin bout so im like ok. well about 15 min. later the supervisor comes up to me to see what im doing and ive already done like 400 of these things in a bout 2 hrs. which is normal and hes like ok, and didnt act mad.

so after a few more trips he tells my friend that he is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif pissed at me and that im not very productive and if i come over there one more time hes gonna fire me, so my friend asks if he should tell me and the guy says he will. well he never did. so now im trying to figure out how im pissin him off by just tryin to make sure the job get done right so the people who buy the sh!t wont get mad.

an how spending a whole 10 seconds to let a guy tac something real quick is consider horseing around. and isnt my supervisor in the wrong here for not coming to me instead of my friend.

well its not really his fault this is his first time welding in a year and its hard for him to see he messed up with the mask on.

I was just giving ya a hard time. I would talk to your supervisor and tell him what you are doing. If he wants you to do something diffrently then do it.

Its always hard working with pricks (Supervisor).

If it were me I would ask him straight up why he had a problem with what your doing. If there was a problem I would tell him to suggest a diffrent alternative. Gotta make the paycheck.

The boss is just tying to piss you off and frustrate you to see how you react for punishing/telling your friend to tell you this and that. Sit down with him one-on-one and find out what's up.

he other thing that bothers me is that he singled me out. there were plenty of other employees that were doing worse things. like one of the forklift guys would come down and would talk to one of the guys for about 5 mins straight and would be laughing and havin a good ole time but they didnt get nothin said to them. i guess i get in trouble for having to fix other peoples mistakes. lol

my supervisor really aint a prick. i know he has done some real shady stuff in the past to get to where hes at but other than that hes been cool with me and always said how good a job i do.

Maybe he has a personal problem with you. The way you look, talk, bump your system around the shop causing him to rant, "**** kids etc."

i dont even have a system at the moment an he pretty much enjoyed being around me cause i played guitar an he did to and crap like that.

perhaps you should look for a job where manual labor is less of a requirement and a job where you can sit around and chit chat? j/k. seriously, talk to your boss instead of us about the issue

Walk up to him.

Say, you're obviously not a good supervisor if you have to go to my friend to discuss my work ethics in which you seem fine to my face and then bash them behind my back.

Fire me if you want, but technically you have never warned me of anything that you feel I am doing wrong.

You know what...Forget it, I quit...Here is my 2 weeks.

At that point expect him to say you dont have to stay for the 2 weeks and smile and say thanks.
