in a word, NO prestige are very solid alarms,I have one in one of my cars , been in there for 4 years and not one problem.

I use an older version of that same alarm (APS996a) and it has worked flawlessly for me for some years now.

Likely the only Audiovox product I would ever actually use is their Prestige alarms...
