PP PCX-480..Worth it?

My friend is willing to sell me his PP PCX-480 for $40. It doesnt work, he said he touched the speaker wires together one day and it just stopped working. Do you think its worth it to buy it and possibly have it fixed?

Yes.

I owned one a few years ago, GREAT amp, shouldn't be that expensive to fix.

that is a good amp, if you have a shop that can fix it and not cost more then $100, i would do it

Yea should be under 100 to fix.

Try giving Ray @ TIPS a call, or email, he's the factory repair guy for Linear Power, and he does GREAT work. I recently got one of my 2.2HVs repaired by him, it honestly sounds better than it did before. Also, he might be able to work a bit of magic on the amp, upgrade a few things here or there, that will cost you extra but if he can, I strongly suggest having him do it.

i say go for it!! even if worse comes to worse and they cant repair it your only out $40 and not $400.

I say do it. 40 bucks for a non working amp isn't a bad price, especially if its an easy fix, you're getting a badass amp for pretty cheap.

well guys i just picked up the amp. I opened up the bottom to just get a quick look and there is nothing that I can see that is fried. I know there are a few people on this forum tha can repair amps but I dont remeber their names. If someone could be so kind as to tell me who they are I would appreciate it. Thanks alot.
