Powering Hfi1000.1d to ts-w2502d2 run at 1ohm or 4? Help!

Hey, I just ordered a single 10" TS-w2502d2 (DVC 2ohm speaker), a Hfi1000.1d amp with bass knob, and a KNUKONCEPTZ 4 gauge amp kit to hook up to my stock bose system in a 2008 escalade.

My question: The amp is "rated" at 1000 rms x 1 and 475 rms x 1. The sub is "rated" to handle 800rms.

Should I run the system at 1ohm and 1000 watts? Does anyone know if this amp can actually handle a 1ohm load without shutting off and going into protect mode?

Run at 1 ohm. You'll see less than 1kW anyway. You can always lower gain for less power output.
