Powerbass 3XL

I was just wondering how good the PowerBass 3XL subs are and if they can actually handle 1700watts. ny help is appreciated. Thanks

A buddy of mine competes (or used to compete) with 8 15" 3xl's in his tahoe. He usually smoked 5 out of 8 of them every time he competed.

He had four powerbass 3000's on them, so I guess 2500 real watts per amp x 4 = 10kw so 8/10k = 1250 per sub. So a little more than rated, and of course we're not even figuring in here impedence rise or other loss along the way. So I give them a "meh" rating in general. They're great subs for daily beating though, but for SPL they're not all that great.
