I have a 99 Ford taurus with a 1000 watt Kenwood amp and 2 12 inch kenwood subs. When i first installed the system ( A little over a year ago) It sounded absolutly amazing...
But since then i've had a few power issues where it seemed like my subs wernt getting enough power. I invested in a 1 farad capacitor and that seemed to fix the issue. but for some reason its happening again. I thought it might be my alternator but that is cranking out 13.68 amps
Then i checked the battery... it wasnt that either. I bought a Optima Yellow cap battery and installed that and its still not hitting the lows that it needs to.
(Brief description of subs) my radio goes up to 50. I usualy listen to it around 30-40 which is pretty loud.
right now when i crank my system up to around 10-25ish then the bass vs highs is perfect. It sounds exactly how its supposed to.
When i crank it up past 25ish then the highs start drowning out the bass and the subs almost sound like they're hollow... its a weird sound, idk... i cant really describe it.
If it helps im running this through my Ipod via a AUX Cable.
