ok i have sold all of my old stuff except my amp and HU i was thinkin about getting either 1 Power HX2 or getting a pair of the regular HX2's im kinda leaning towards the single Power HX2 but ive never owned a system with just one sub so i didnt want to be disapointed....my amps birth cert. puts it at 1080 watts rms so does anyone have any sugestions? is 1 Power HX2 pretty loud or should i go for the pair of the reg HX2s running at like a 1000 watts?

you could get a whole lot louder and clearer subs for the price of RF subs. I still like RF's a lot, but must admit, therer are better for that kind of money.

one sub COULD take you to incredible heights, but then, if you're not happy with somwhere in the region of 145dB, I think you're going a little extreme. I don't think anyone could sit in a car that's playing 145dB for very long. Look into other brands, if you dont mind going off mainstream.

I've heard a power HX2, and it is LOUD... SQ, I don't think there really is any (just a blurry loud boom, instead of tight, clean bass beats).

145dbs is plenty loud for me...thats the area of all of my past systems...im not paying too much really the HX2 is about 113 + s/h and the power HX2 is 230+ s/h ...its not really staying with main stream or anything like that but i have had 3 other pairs of RF speakers and they have never really let me down compaired to some other brands that i have been more then a little dissapointed with.

then by all means, get the power HX2..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

two of those might give you twice the satisfaction, but do you have the space for both?

well thats the thing.....i have enough room for 2 of the rf subs in sealed boxes, but i have spent thousands in the past on the stereo equip in my car bc i havent had a car that i actually like now i got a mustang gt so i sold off all the stuff i dont need anymore for extra money for headers, h-pipe, flowmasters...ect... so thats why i was thinking either one Power HX2 bc the total with shipping is about $260 and the total for 2 regual HX2s with shipping is also about $260 so the price will eb the same for the single speaker or the pair so thats how i came to the delemia....

well, if you calculate it that way...for SPL, two is almost always ( think ALL the time,r eally) better than one. More airspace moved, more SPL. You've had an L7 before. I'm sure that would've gotten your money's worth too, unless you didn't build the right box for it.

Erm, the power HX2's have a certain mounting depth, slightly more than a L7, I think. Be sure you measure your box properly and be double sure that two HX2's will fit. Other than that...hmmm..

one sub is rated at 1000w RMS. you'd need about 1500W or more to get them pumping like they should. As they are dual 2ohms, you'd need amp amp that produces about 1500~2000w RMS @2ohms. (RF bd1500 would be another RF choice, but again, there are other amplifiers that will achieve those numbers, with less $$$)

You gotta watch out for the alt. any amp that produces over 1000w would demand a lot of current. I don't know what mustnag's alt is, but most alts that come with the car are not built to accomodate 2000w of audio power.

hmmm choices i hate making them....i know that 2 is almost always louder but i thought maybe bc the Power HX2 was supposed to be a lot moe of a sub it might be able to almost equal the output of the 2 HX2s......i would be running the dual 2ohm power hx2 at 4 ohms....

what size ported box works good?
rockford's recommended boxes worked well for quite a few that has used them. Jmac told me some numbers with the power HX2, but since I didn't get to buy it....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif oh well

try to do a search on it, there's quite a few
