Power Help.

Hey. I've got a problem with my JBL amp powering on. I know some about wiring but apparently not enough. Now, I've got the batt+ running to my battery's positive pole, but I am unsure if the ground is connected properly. I've got it connected to the frame of the car. I peeled back carpeting and found a part of the body (painted same colour as exterior) So I was just holding it to that for a test.

As for the remote, the back of my deck has the blue wire, but also a blue one with a white stripe. What's this for?

Can anyone figure out why this isn't powering with the rest of the system?

did you scrape away all the paint and make sure the ground was securely touching bare metal?

Did not, but it did apparently send a spark when it touched. Can't confirm this however cause my friend was holding it on.. what are the two wires coming out of the back of the deck for though? blue, and blue/white?

I'll try scraping the paint away when the cars back here tommorow, thanks for the reply

how about stop doing the half-assed grounding crap. just hook it up properly. don't start playing the amp and then touch the ground wire to metal. one wire is for the amps, the other is for a remote antena. is this a pioneer deck?

The car was off when it happened, which makes me believe it didn't actually happen. I will try doing it properly tommorow, but all I was doing was just confirming if it worked. And no, the deck is a Panasonic C1110U.. I know it's quite dated but it's all that's needed
