in my 92 4 runner i was using a chevy alt , just needed to hard wire the chevy plus and make a small extension piece for the bracket . went from a stock 60 amp to a 260 amp alt ,worked perfect .and was way cheaper than a specific alt for the 4 runner
well i talked to the guy at power bastards a few hours ago,and he told me that my car dont need the plug,in my car the plug is just for the dash light,which makes sense because all 3 wires are positive,i have a 12 volt constant,i have a 5 volt key on and i have a 5 volt start
