Ok,
Im not in the states where my boat and system are so cant do the most basic tests to quickly figure this out. I had to leave the country quickly at the end of last season so didnt have a chance to determine this then either.
What happened:
I was running all 4 of my Soundstream picasso 6.5" 3 way speakers off of a profile ap600 which was giving each speaker 75rms at 2ohms. Levels were all set properly and i was far from clipping.
on one or 2 occasions, all of the highs and mid cut out of all of the speakers then promptly came back on. this was after running everything at 2/3 steam for about 4 hours in the hot sun. After i turned everything off and gave it a rest, everything was fine.
A couple of days later, all of the highs and mids failed to operate whatsoever, but the woofer was working fine.
I am fairly certain that none of the speakers are blown, because it would be VERY unlikely for all to blow at the same time, and also since I heard the cutting out of the highs perviously only to come back on.
So the question is,
has anyone ever had experience with a damaged amplifier causing this problem, or a similar problem?
Reason that I am saking now instead of waiting till i get home is, if i find a consensus that the amp is indeed fried,, ill just order a new one now so i can do all of my new seasonal upgrades all at the same time, as soon as i get back stateside.
