Pontiac G5 owners

Hey guys, so a buddy of mine drives a Pontiac G5 2009. The one with the basic model stereo and no onstar either.

He picked up a Kenwood double din that he wants to install.

I read that I may need one of these for his car:

Or can I just get by using a basic harness like this?

I don't really care about the chimes and turning signal noises, and I can run the accessory wire to the fuse box. Would it be okay or would it affect anything else?

I can get it local. My car I skipped the bs harness too.

I just used a regular harness as well, I didn't care for the chimes and stuff.

if you have onstar though, you'll need a special harness if you want to use it.
