its cool, L7s are pretty good all round subs. L7s ported= SPL, L7s sealed= SQL. never heard aq hd312's

here you want your answer, Each Sub/ sub combo can get louder than the other if you spend time building the box and the install. Its more about install than it is the subs you have. Now if you had more power i would say mtx's but you don't so go with the L7's.

Um yea to hd312s would murder 2 L7,I think pretty easily(just got my hd3 15s 2 days ago...took long enough)But the L7 are more affordable.
