Plug It In?

I have heard this term used on these and other forums referring to what people are going to do with old or crappy subs. I was wondering if this meant plugging it into the wall outlet on your home electrical system or if I am way off. I have a shitty old rockford sub I wanna do something cool with, and this sounds like something cool, but I don't want to do something dumb without asking first. And Please don't tell me to do something that is going to end up hurting me or my house or whatever.

plug it in!

Ya that means plug it into a wall socket. I suggest doing it on an outside outlet because it is a fire hazard and if something goes wrong, you have room for safety. Get a video of you doing it though because its awesome!

all i did was take an extension cord not plugged in of course. cut the out end. spliced the wires. hooked them up directly to the connectors on the sub. and then plugged the extension cord into the wall. i should have left it in the box though. people were telling me it got alot louder. it was still loud enough you couldnt hear anything in the garage. they also said the sub was ruined but, i did the wall thing three more times with no problems.
