If i wanted to do a plexiglass enclosure.. how do i go about it? the same as a wooden box?
no....you use a special plastics glue to chemically seal it. And a proper wood box isn't just screwed together--its glued with wood gluewell i was lookin online at custom encloursers and i saw a few plexiglass ones.. and just wanted to see how to do it.. and see if theres a big sound difference compared to MDF? if i were to do it, do i just do the same as wood? screw the sides together and seal it with silicone?
just plastic glueyes i know theres more to a box than just screwed but my point of that statement was if i were to do it, would i still be using screws? not just the acrylic sealer? or is there a specific screw like connector i would need?
not really a sound difference....its just for the "wow" or high end looksok cool.. so any opinion on the sound difference? ive seen alot of boxes where they would have a plexiglass box around the actual box, but never heard just a plexiglass box? comments?
I believe he's talking about building the entire box out of plexi... Not just view panels. You don't have to use 3/4 Plexi, you can use thinner and just router out a place to mount the plexi on.. and glue and screw it down if you wanted to. Just be gentle screwing it.
