Plexiglass/Lexan/Makrolon window

I'm thinking about using one of these materials to make a see-thru window for my new sub box. It would mount from the inside and attached to the box with screws and sealer or putty around the edge. What is a safe thickness? I don't want the window to flex everytime the bass hits.

Thickness will depend on the size of the window. You'll need to screw it down and seal it with a gasket or very carefully with clear silicone if you want it to look good. Lexan (polycarbonate) is pretty much ruined once it is scratched and you can't polish the edges easily. With Plexi (acrylic) scratches can be polished out and the edges can be sanded and polished to be just as clear as the flat cast surface. Never worked with Makrolon and I'm not sure what it is. Chances are it's just another brand of polycarb or acrylic. Plexiglas and Lexan are both trademark names for the material in question.
