Hello everyone!
First off, let me introduce myself...
My name is neill, im 19, and a student at colorado state university. I'm studying mechanical engineering.
Anyway.. on to the good stuff:
The car: 2000 Audi A4 with lots of goodies
Engine/performance:
Revolver cams, K04 Turbo, full custom exhaust (quiet and nice, not rice at all), custom tune, fmic, and some other little things
Looks:
OEM RS4 front bumper, S4 HIDs, s4 rims and rear bumper, ugly reiger side skirts, CF Trunk and Hood, (soon to be partially painted)
S4 interior with custom suede inserts.
MB Quartz components in the front and in the rear. Currently running off a ****ty old kenwood deck.. (not sure what exactly, borrowing from a friend)
Just traded my 3 12" JL W1V2 subs, one of which had a ripped surround for 2 12" Alpine Type R's. Practically brand new.
Old subs in ****ty box in my old xterra:
Will run one of the Type R's off an alpine MRP-M450 amp that i have as a temporary solution. Think this will be enough? I don't need anything super loud, but i like some bass, just like it clean too. The other i will be selling to a friend.
So now this is where i am at: I need to build a box for the Type R.
Now, i have several options.
1.) glassing a box similar to this one
but it will probably have to be bigger.
2.) Small, sealed, square box:
3.) (Drew this up last night, and would like opinions and reviews on it
The volume of the chamber is a little bigger than 1.75 ft^3. Vent area is 30 in^2.
and vent length is 35 inches (what winiso recomended for 32hz.)
What box should i go with? (glass, sealed or ported)? Is there anything i should change in any of the designs?
Thanks for your help, and sorry for the long post!
Neill
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Neill
