i'm am soon to be getting a trans am and there is room for 2 12" subs in there and i want to know which subs would put out the most insanly amounts of sound for under 400 for both.i will build the box myself and run them with a bp1200.1......i want mainly SPL......SQ is good but need sumthin that pounds like a #*!&%^@!#!!!does this kind of sub exist that is heads and shoulders above n e thing else??i'm sure alot of other people are wondering so if n e one could answer this question please tell us.

Port a single brahma 15" or 12", I've heard them both ported in the back of a few fbodies, some I helped install personally. I own a firebird myself, a single 12" should be enough to make you not want to sit in it very long if you have fairly level listening tastes..

My 2 Cdt HP-1200 with a slot port in 4 cubes makes the Brahma 12 bounce up a down in the shipping crate on its way back to adire for repairs !

a couple of Adire shivas or maybe ImageDynamics ID MAX.. A single Stroker? dunno just pullin names outta my backside.

yeah i have heard alot about the ID MAX sub aren't those mainly SPL subs because thats wut i'm lookin for. how much will they run me and will they be louder than 1 15" brahma?? thanx guys

The ID Max was primarily built to do SQ, for SPL I suggest you look elsewhere because of the coil design, and you can't get a 15" yet, as it's not available. You should expect to pay about 429 authorized for the 12", you can find them unauthorized for around 350 I believe.

hey what about 2 15 shocker III??? i might be able to fit those in there....how would those sound and wouldn't this give me some good SPL???

Give you a TON of SPL....dont know about SQ though..probably not as great as it could be.

so thats wut i should do? cuz i want alot of SPL is this the best SPL sub in this price range? and whne u say not that good SQ is it that bad or not really TO noticable....i'm not a car audio freak so i don't really know to much about this stuf f

Mainly an SPL sub, theres not going to be much sound quality there. Port the bastard and get some high numbers....who cares about SQ when your hitting 160 db's.

If you want to stay around or maybe even under $400 bucks for the pair try looking at a pair of Hollywood "Edge 12's" or even the Excursion 1280 series by Hollywood. Both are loud as hell and have good sq as well, of the two my choice is the Edge 12's.......BEWARE!!!!! alright thanx guys for all your help i really appreciate it.... i think i am going to go with 2 shocker III 15". would 2 JBL 1200.1 amps power these good? (one on each?)and wut size box could i fit these in....smallest would be best but wutever u guys think..remeber this is going in a 98 trans am so how do u think it would sound in there? thanx,peace

man your going to make a fast car have 100 pounds of sub in it?? tisk tisk man just kidding. from what i've heard about the Shocker's you could prolly strap 2 1200.1's to each if those are the ones i'm thinking of. eithe way that is going to be insanly loud just like a 80/20 split of spl/sq if it's that good. gotta remember though if it is an all out SPL car then it sounds like ass or at least a quote directly loyd.
