plays whenever it wants

Ok i have a 2003 lancer with a stock HU. and a power acoustik amp taking its source from the rear speakers. i spliced the wires and now i two wires go back to the speakers and two wires are on two rca heads (L+R) going into a power acoustik pre-amp. here's the problem...

when i turn on the HU, i get nothing in the back unless i unplug the rca's then re-plug them. then if i turn up the volume enough... the rear cuts off. the amp stays on though, but i have to unplug and replug again. eh, aftermarket decks are so much easier to use imo for exactly this reason, but i don't know how to help, sorry.
