Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD Problem

Hello everyone,

I have a Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD installed in my 2002 subaru impreza. I've had this unit installed since december 2010 and i haven't had any problem. Yesterday when I started my car the unit turned on and began playing music as usual, however the touch screen is unresponsive. I turned off my car, waited a few minutes and turned it back on, the unit began playing and the touch screen worked for about 2 minutes before becoming unresponsive again. I pushed the reset button on the head unit, the unit rebooted and began playing music, the touch screen was responsive for about 2 minutes and stopped working again.

Does anyone have any idea about what could be wrong or something I can check/try to fix this problem. Thank you for your help

Call Pioneer and speak with them. This is a known problem.

Unfortunately Pioneer was no help, they just told me to take it to a service center and have it serviced. Anything else i can try before I cave and take it to the service center? Thanks

My brand new P8400H does this sometimes .. I just turn my truck off and back on and it works .. It is totally random and not worth messing with support yet...
