They both have the features I need and are both around the same price. What i'm asking is which one can control my hdc3's better. I'm running a pair of hdc3's on a crunch gp3000 pro which has no remote gain. After using a dmm to set my gains to full tilt at 55 volume for example. I want to be able to play full tilt with my highs and midbass but using the head unit's subwoofer output, dial the subs down in the morning while i goto work, in housing areas etc.

The jvc's subwoofer output goes down to -6 while the pioneer goes down to -24. If anyone has had any experience with these 2 head units could you chime in?

I've heard both and the Pioneer sounds better IMO. I might get one, but I'd rather have the Alpine. The Alpine and Kenwood I looked at have blurry pixelated Ipod album artwort. I didn't hear the JVC with ipod, just cd's. The 4100dvd has very clear artwork and a better looking display than JVC. Those subwoofer numbers mean absolutely nothing. The Pioneer has the stronger sub output. If tested, my 4v Alpine 9887 will read higher than that 5v JVC. BTW, the JVC was hooked up to 2 15L5's and I was soooo unimpressed. IMO, JVC and Audioque is a bad mix. Pioneer will do you right. You might not care about all that ipod talk, just thought it would be helpful?

This is not a hard choice, Pioneer FTW! Go to a few comps where sub gain/sub level play a major role in metering and tell me how many JVC's you see? I ran that JVC with the 3.5 screen. It was all show and no go. It still gets good reviews. My friend's Pioneer got stole and he replaced it with a JVC that I told him not to get. His insurance paid for it. Man, he snatched that JVC out so quick and went back to Pioneer. He said his bass was weaker with the Jvc. Jvc does not ****, but Pioneer has the better sub output.
